About me

Hi, I’m Lili M. Haze.

I was born and raised in Germany until I moved to the United States at age 12. I’ve always been creative and obsessed with audiobooks as a kid, constantly dreaming up wild stories, and apparently talking in my sleep (if my mom is to be believed).

In middle and high school, my focus shifted to sports, and I competed with an equestrian drill team that earned two national championships. But it wasn’t until college that my passion for books came rushing back. I read hundreds of books each year, falling in love with the magic of great storytelling.

People used to tell me I should become an author because of my “crazy dreams.” Now, as an adult, I still have them. The only difference is that this time, I write them down. One dream in particular wouldn’t leave me alone. After months of thinking about it, I finally sat down one Thursday night after work and told myself, “How hard can it be?”

Spoiler: it was much harder than I thought. But I’m stubborn and determined, and that’s how The Battles We Fight was born.

When I’m not writing or working my corporate day job, you can usually find me riding my motorcycle, reading, or cuddling my dog, Bear.
